Paradigm has released its roadmap for scaling the Reth Ethereum execution client. The roadmap proposes changing the scalability metric from transactions per second to gas per second as a more nuanced way to understand the network's computational throughput. Paradigm plans to use vertical and horizontal scaling — accomplished via a parallel EVM, multi-rollup support, and cloud-native nodes, among other improvements — to achieve 1 gigagas/s, 200x faster than Base and 800x faster than mainnet.
